Found

(ongoing)

Staged during a neighborhood-organized garage sale in San Francisco, Found reframes simple monetary exchange and replaces it with social exchange. Domestic items are offered in exchange for a handshake or a story about your mother. Placing the sales interaction that can often be quiet or silent with the social interaction of a handshake or the universal story of one’s mother, the garage-sale experience is placed into ambiguity asking passers-by to reconsider the exchange of items for currency and resulting in community-building exchange.

Community Write-In

(forthcoming)

Staged in public spaces, the Community Write-In invites people to take a moment and write with each other. Blending both casual and professional writers in 60-minute event where a current project might be continued or a new piece of writing started from a selection of prompts, the Community Write-In acknowledges the communal aspect of an arts practice, even though writing is often considered a solitary act. The Community Write-In responds to writers looking for each other’s company by offering a free, process-focused space.

Artist Show + Tell @ Gardenville Station

(ongoing)

A semi-regular event series in which invited artists of various mediums briefly present their art practice and enter into dialogue with each other and attendees to the event. The focus is on what artists are making and thinking right now, shifting focus away from product and repositioning an art gathering as a dialogue on process, rather than a celebration of product in a gallery show.
